The Motility Capsule Test consists of a disposable capsule that assists doctors in accurately locating abnormalities in the gastrointestinal region by collecting samples and data. As the Motility Capsule moves through the patients GI tract, it measures items such as pressure, pH levels, and temperature. It also provides doctors with additional information such as small and large bowel transit time, whole gut transit, pressure patterns in the antrum and duodenum, as well as gastric emptying time. Capsule , your gastroenterologist will be able to provide a more accurate diagnosis.

Motility Capsule Testing Procedure Preparation
Dr. Berookim will provide the patient with all of the appropriate instructions before the Motility Capsule test. However, patients should know that this test will track and record information for about five days. Patients will need to fast for eight hours prior to going into the office for the procedure. Patients will have to fast for about six hours after swallowing the Motility Capsule meal bar and capsule.
