At North Shore Digestive Medicine, PC we perform a variety of digestive procedures which include:

Colonoscopy: A colonoscopy allows the doctor to examine the lining of your large intestine (colon). Guidelines suggest a screening colonoscopy at 50 years old for a baseline exam. If your family has a history of colon diseases, it may be a good idea to have this procedure at an earlier age. Click here for details at the ASGE website.

Upper Endoscopy: An upper endoscopy allows the doctor to examine the lining of the upper part of your gastrointestinal tract, which includes the stomach and esophagus. Click here for details at the ASGE website.

Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP): is a technique used to study the bile ducts, pancreatic duct and gallbladder.  Click here for details at the ASGE website.

Flexible Sigmoidoscopy: Allows Dr. Forohar to examine the lining of the rectum and a portion of the large intestine (colon).  Click here for details at the ASGE website.

Capsule Endoscopy: Capsule Endoscopy allows Dr. Forohar to examine the lining of the middle part of your intestinal tract such as duodenum, ileum, and jejunum.  These are parts of your small intestine.  Click here for details at the ASGE website.

Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy (PEG): This procedure is for patients who have difficultly swallowing or the inability to eat or receive nutrition adequately.   Click here for details at the ASGE website.
